TikTok Removes Over 1.21 Million Videos from Bangladesh in Q2 2024
Between April and June 2024, TikTok removed a total of 1,21,58,745 videos from Bangladesh. This figure represents an increase of 7,717,832 videos compared to the first quarter of the year. Additionally, the active video removal rate in Bangladesh stands at 99.6%, with 97.2% of the videos being removed within 24 hours.
This information was disclosed in TikTok's second-quarter Community Guidelines Enforcement Report.
According to the report, TikTok removed a total of 1,788,827,465 videos globally, accounting for approximately 1.0% of all videos uploaded to the platform. Among these, 1,443,413,133 videos were identified and removed using automated detection technology. Furthermore, 594,318 videos were reinstated after verification. The active removal rate for this period was 98.2%, with 93.5% of videos deleted within 24 hours of posting.
The report indicated that 31% of the removed videos contained sensitive content that violated TikTok's content policies. Additionally, 15.1% of the deleted videos breached the platform's safety standards, while 4.7% were removed for violating privacy and security guidelines.
TikTok stated that, similar to the first quarter, it will continue to provide brief summaries regarding removed covert influence operations (CIO) networks. A separate report will detail the disrupted operations related to these removals.
